Undisputed Sex Symbol Raquel Welch Dies

Raquel Welch is dead. The actress, model, and entrepreneur died in Los Angeles, California, on February 15, 2023, at the age of 82.

As an actress, Raquel Welch is said to have propelled to stardom after starring in the iconic movie One Million Years B.C. (1966). Contributing considerably in her success in film acting was her image of a sex symbol that emanated from her stunning beauty and sex appeal alias sexiness.

She became US’ sex symbol in early 1960s after the untimely demise of the legendary actress Marilyn Monroe, and was the goddess of the movie industry there for about 50 years. Her sex symbol status was undisputed. That was illustrated by, among others, the renowned sex and beauty magazine Playboy in its ranking in 1998 of 100 Sexiest Female Stars of the 20th Century. The ranking placed Raquel Welch at the 3rd position just behind Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield.

The contribution played by beauty and sex appeal in Raquel Welch’s outstanding career accomplishment has been acknowledged by herself. For instance, talking in an interview in the 1970s she reportedly did exactly that saying and we partly quote as thus.

“I’ve definitely used my body and sex appeal to advantage in my work, but always within limits”

And she was absolutely unwavering as regards her red lines. The latter are said to have been based on ensuring protection of her private life. Within this context, she is said to have refused completely to appear nude in movies during her entire career life.
