Characterization of bikinis and swimsuits in 2023 has been overshadowed by micro bikini bottoms. Micro bikini bottoms or what have been referred to in some quarters as loincloth bikini bottoms because of their resemblance to the ancient loincloth, have taken swimwear fashion in 2022 by storm, with numerous swimwear brands showcasing them in their collections and fashion shows for their 2023 Ready-To-Wear (RTW) bikinis. At the Miami Swim Week 2022, for instance, loincloth bikinis were seen in shows of almost all leading swimwear brands who participated in the iconic fashion event.

Loincloth bikini bottoms started showing up in the past couple years, but in 2023 they are dominant feature of bikinis.

Notwithstanding, there are some other features that also describe bikinis and swimsuits in 2023. We will describe them as thus.

Popularity of halter-neck, V-neck, round-neck, and boat-neck swimsuits and bikini tops from 2022, continues in 2023. However, popularity of the square-neck that was also popular with both bikini tops and swimsuits in 2022, seems to continue only with swimsuits, while probably diminishing with bikini tops.

Particularly, halter-neck bikini tops are seemingly gaining increasing popularity in 2023, with halter-neck tank bikini tops emerging as new favorite feature. However, there seems to be no significant increase in popularity of halter-neck swimsuits in 2023.

Also, strapless bikini tops, i.e., tube bikini tops that featured strongly in sexy bikinis and swimsuits in 2022, continue to be extremely popular in 2023. At the same time, tube swimsuits are emerging as trendy swimwear in 2023.

Furthermore, it important to mention at this juncture that, with exception of only a few cases, bikini tops in 2023 will take various forms and may not therefore be significantly unique but rather continuation from 2022 and earlier. That is probably because of swimwear brands’ desire to maintain their previous fashion styles that were not adequately explored and used by users due to the Coronavirus pandemic lockdowns and restrictions.

The above characteristics of sexy bikini and swimsuits in 2023 are deductions by inference from critical analysis of swimwear collections presented in some major global swimwear fashion shows especially the Miami Swim Week 2022 held in Miami Florida in July 14 – 21, 2022, for spring/summer 2023.

We hope the video will give an idea about how trendy sexy bikinis and swimsuits in 2023 look like and enrich the decision-making process for individual choices of such outfits. Going through all the collections of numerous swimwear brands to make such a choice may be very tedious and probably confusing.
