Knickerless Fashion Trend Revisited: Female Celebrities As Major Proponents

Knickerless trend, also known as no panties trend, that began more than a decade ago continues to go strong. With the trend, women go about their daily activities without underwear beneath their dresses, skirts, trousers, shorts, etc. They therefore simply ditch the underwear. The trend is also referred to as free-balling, going underwear-free, or going commando.

Knickersless trend has become so popular among women worldwide that some global fashion brands like Versace have responded appropriately by designing women’s outfits that support ditching of the underwear, or that make wearing of the underwear unnecessary at least according to them. Such outfits include high slit dresses and skirts, blazer dresses, oversize shirts, oversize hoodies, lace dresses and skirts with some translucent areas on appropriate parts, etc. In this way, the knickerless trend became women’s fashion style to reckon with, and that continues to be increasingly popular.

The major proponents of the knickerless trend are some of the world’s most famous female celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lawrence, Reese Witherspoon, Halsey, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Rita Ora, Ciara, Nicole Scherzinger, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kesha, Iggy Azalea, and Halle Berry, among others.

Also, some other female celebrities staunchly advocating the knickerless trend include: Chrissy Teigen, Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Giulia Salemi, Irina Shayk, Sophia Pierson, Blanca Blanco, Nina Dobrev, Marnie Simpson, Pascal Craymer, Danielle Sellers, Demi Rose, Stephanie Davis, Lizzie Cundy, Ngoc Trinh, Dayane Mello, Abbey Clancy, Bella Thorne, Aoife Francesca, Charlotte Dawson, Maitland Ward, Hailey Baldwin, Jaimie Alexander, Melanie Brown, Coco Austin, Anja Rubik, Xenia Tchoumitcheva, and Laura Pope.

Some female celebrities have been showing publicly that they do not wear the underwear. Such celebrities have been spotted on red carpets, in streets, and in other public places, in outfits like those mentioned earlier, that reveal vividly absence of the underwear. For these female celebrities, revelation that they go commando is often clearly intended and part of their crusade to advocate and promote the knickerless fashion trend.

Some other female celebrities, however, have been rather reluctant to display publicly that they go underwear-free despite being hardcore proponents of the trend, probably because of shyness. Most of these group of celebrities that include Hailey Baldwin, have tended to use some outfits, like the earlier mentioned blazer dresses, and oversize shirts and hoodies, that support going underwear-free but do not reveal absence of the underwear per se.

But even for the celebrities who love going commando without allowing visual evidence, have sometimes found the evidence released accidentally as wind blew up their dresses or skirts showing that there were, indeed, no panties underneath. Also, some of the celebrities have suffered wardrobe malfunctioning in public, that opened-up their dresses and skirts revealing the absence of the underwear, to astonished observers. Furthermore, visual evidence of absence of the underwear has been made public by some intrusive paparazzi who have been shooting upskirt pics of the celebrities.
