How Wide Are Sexy Hips? 2019 Perceptions

In 2016 we published under JK Freelance, our first video about hips titled: Hips. How wide Are Sexy Hips? The video was aimed at triggering constructive debate and generate new knowledge about what sexy hips mean to women and their admiring men. In other words, women's and their men's perceptions about sexy hips in terms of their widths.

However, because people perceptions about things are dynamic, hence shifting overtime, we thought three years since our first video, it is imperative to find out current perceptions about this physical feature of sexiness/attractiveness. Whilst we would definitely like to hear what you guys out their think are widths of hips that are most sexy/attractive at the moment, we have also generated some ideas based on our own research about that. Before we discern the ideas, lets first briefly elaborated the concept of width of hips.

By width of hips we mean in strict terms waist-hip ratios, with wide hips implying low waist-hip ratio. Accordingly, the wider the hips, the lower the waist-hip ratio. Waist-hip ratios are considered by many people in many countries, crucial physical feature of attractiveness or sexiness of women.

Obsession of hips as physical feature that can evoke emotional response hence attraction from observers of opposite sex goes a long way back to the ancient Greeks and later to the Romans during the Renaissance historic epoch. Sculptures and other classic art materials, as well as some historical narratives about sexy beautiful women, clearly show emphasis on waist-ratios, among others.

Even now in the modern era, waist-hip ratios remain undisputed important physical feature of sexiness/attractiveness of women, with smart women often said to exploit them to commercialize certain talents, and to find entry into industries that directly or indirectly require sexiness and beauty as prerequisites. For instance, we know how popular actresses and dancers in Bollywood and elsewhere continue to be those with hips perceived there as sexy. Actresses like Ileana D'Cruz and Tamanna Bhatia are good examples in this case. There are also some suggestions from some quarters that it is probable breakthrough into fame and wealth by some female celebrities possessing hips perceived by many people as very sexy, like Kim Kardashian, Shakira, Beyoncé, Nicole Sherzinger, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Tyra Banks, Rexha Bebe, Iggy Azalea, Kate Upton, etc, could have been assisted by, among other factors, their hips.

Furthermore, according to some credible scientific sources, waist-hip ratios are linked to fertility of girls and women, as well as degrees of risk for possible fatal childbirths among girls and women, with low waist-hip ratios linked to lower risks. Notwithstanding nevertheless, how wide sexy hips or low waist-hip ratios should be, is subjective, and as such, so far, there is no concrete answer to that. People's perceptions about the physical feature in terms of the above parameter are said to vary among cultures, race, nations, and even continents.

Therefore, our knowledge about what are widths of hips or waist-hip ratios that are sexy is still very circumscribed hence very flimsy indeed. However, as we indicated earlier, we have conducted a rather crude Internet research about the subject matter, that has generated some interesting facts as thus.

First, many women perceive theirs hips sexy/attractive irrespective of widths or waist-hip ratios. This was inferred from analysis of photos posted on social media and other online platforms by women themselves. More specifically, many women continue to post photos about their sexiness/attractiveness, that clearly emphasize hips, hence indicating they believe hips are major contributors to their sexiness.

Second, women's fashion shows continue to feature models with varying widths of hips or waist- hip ratios, albeit models with small and medium widths or medium and high waist-hip ratios, seem to be more popular. Popular examples of the latter models include, among others, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner.
